Artistic Surfaces recently re-did the 1,300-square foot office and showroom floor at our headquarters in Pompano Beach Florida. The floor contains an intricate design and pattern which consist of circular shapes, complemented by a geometric pattern that forms the shape of a detailed flower located at the entrance of the showroom.
To begin our craftsmen led by Sam Godbey, our director of operations for the concrete division here at Artistic Surfaces, removed the old sealer and stains to begin the transition to an epoxy metallic floor. They did this by prepping the surfaces with a 60-grit screen and floor buffer. The decision was made to keep the same beautiful geometric saw-cut shapes that plays throughout the showroom and office floor. These intricate details were brought to life with multiple metallic pigment colors that include copper, butterscotch, merlot, mother-of-pearl, surfs up, rose and maui. Once the metallic colors were applied, a regular blade and v-blade were used to re-cut the designs for better detail. These cuts were then filled with black grout. Finally, Sam and his crew re-sanded the floor and put down two clear coats of epoxy to maximize the shine.
